Radio Call-In by Karen Graves

August 1998: Their first appearance on the Scott & Todd Big Show in NYC. They had folks calling in and I did. The first two callers asked to hear “Old Apartment” and the other said she went to summer camp with them… nothing else. They asked me what I wanted to hear… I said the “ultimate party song” (…we all know that’s $1000000). Ed’s response was “uuhh, we don’t know that one” and Steve started singing the chicken dance (da-da-da-da-da-da-da). Ed (who had the guitar) cut in over him with “could have been the whiskey, mighta been the gin…” (song is “Wasn’t That a Party” ) and a sing-a-long followed… just through the chorus. It was followed by laughter from The Big Show folks and Naomi asking to hear $1000000. Todd commented that was probably what I meant. They started playing $1000000 and the first words sung were “…could have been the whiskey, mighta been the gin…”. I was stunned – I actually got them (at about 8:15 am) to spontaneously break out into a song!
