Tiny: Thanks, That Was Fun

Drum tech and percussionist extraordinaire Robert ‘Tiny’ Menegoni is parting ways with Barenaked Ladies after 18 years of life on the road as part of the BNL crew.

After a long career as an integral part of the Barenaked Crew, Robert ‘Tiny’ Menegoni is now leaving the touring life to concentrate on other opportunities. We would like to pay tribute to Tiny for being such a great asset to the BNL community over the last 18 years. Read full post

Over the years, Tiny has dressed up on stage in a variety of (sometimes ridiculous) costumes, as well as providing percussive backup and tech support for Tyler Stewart. His ‘manservance’ (as described by Tyler) has encompassed Kraft dinner sweepin’, drumstick designin’, donut cookin’, tambourine shakin’, drum fixin’ and occasional Eraser-singin’. You can also hear him playing tambourine, shaker, bongos and other percussive goodness on a number of BNL albums. Tiny hooked up with the band back in September 1993.

Tiny has donned a variety of outfits over the years, including:

  • God
  • Scuba diver
  • Father Christmas
  • Chef
  • Cowboy
  • Bald guy with glasses (a very convincing performance…)
We would like to take this opportunity to extend our gratitude to Tiny for being such an understated yet essential part of the entire Barenaked experience, for being very generous with his time when meeting fans on occasion, and of course wish him well in his future endeavors. Barenaked Ladies have often been quoted as saying that they have the best and hardest working crew in the world; Tiny has been a huge part of this and will be very much missed by the fans.

Thanks that was fun, Tiny!
